In addition to the full symphony, we have smaller groups, such as the Woodwind Ensemble, the Brass Band, and the Mansfield Jazz Orchestra, which are all available to perform for your function. Contact us to inquire.

Brilliant Performance by The Brass and Percussion Saturday Night!
Conducted by Rick Potter, the MWS Brass Band (+percussion) performed for the first Mansfield's first "Night on the Town" at the new Town Park. There was a large and very responsive audience, and the crowd loved the performance!
Congratulations to all involved, and thanks to Rick Potter, The City of Mansfield, The Salvation Army (for music and extra players), Wester Middle School and Donna Shepard Intermediate for equipment, to Walnut Ridge Baptist Church for their continued support of the MWS, and to Daniel, the "lost boy found" who provided us all with a brief moment of tension that resolved with a happy ending.
Congratulations, Andrew McCormick!
Andrew McCormick, Mansfield High School senior, 1st chair All-State Trumpet, and MWS Trumpet, has just been informed that he is the winner of a $34,000 per year scholarship to the exclusive University of Miami Frost School of Music. That's the maximum amount that Frost awards.
Just a few honors and awards that our MISD students have earned this year:
- Fifteen (that's 15 for those of you in Rio Linda) band and choir students made the Texas all-state groups this year. All-state in Texas is based on head-to-head competition. It's not selected by stats or votes. It is the highest honor a HS music student can achieve in Texas, at least the equivalent of an all-state athlete or National Merit Scholar.
- Over 100 students won all-region honors, which in this area is a BIG accomplishment.
- All MISD middle school and high school bands won sweepstakes honors at UIL competitions this year. That's a major accomplishment.
Another recording session finished
