Welcome! We are excited that you have shown an interest in our Young Artist Solo Competition.  This contest is open to any student, grades 9-12 who is currently enrolled in a Mansfield ISD band program. Audition selections must come from the UIL PML Grade 1 solo list, although performances do not have to be memorized or come from the non-memorization list. Performers must have a live accompanist or MakeMusic set-up for the audition. A piano will be provided.

 

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

First place: $500

Second place: $300

Third place: $200

 

In addition, each winner will be recognized at our Spring Concert on Sunday, May 3rd. The first place winner will also be invited to perform their piece at the concert.

 

Auditions will take play on Saturday, April 18th. (For those students attending Summit High School - If you will be attending your Band Spring Trip that day, please select the earliest performance time and register. You will be contacted about our virtual submission video option.)
